“Music can be a great tool to communicate everything we are learning in Pueblo del Sol and also to connect with a new group of people with common interests.” - EZE
Deep in the Amazon rainforest, completely disconnected from the material world, Ezequiel Ayarza Sforza had the dream that would transform his life and that of many families forever: the creation of a new reality based on the integration of native communities with the rest of the world. This dream crystallized in the Sierra de Oaxaca in 2017 when he founded Pueblo del Sol, a Mexican paradise striving to improve human well-being and the planet.
Six years and many lessons later, the sustainability pioneer is back in the news, this time with the release of his debut album released under the stage name Eze: “Capítulos”, an album conceived with the mission of sharing those lessons so that more projects like Pueblo del Sol can expand in other regions.
Over the course of 10 songs, Eze relives the story of his personal evolution, going through all his versions – from executive to publicist, financier, software and video game developer – until the moment when, on that trip to the Peruvian jungle, glimpsed the possibility of helping the transition to a new reality for human beings.
“Capítulos” presents a mix of genres including rock, grunge, country and Andean folk, drawing on influences as diverse as Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Héroes del Silencio and his compatriots, Mercedes Sosa, Gustavo Cerati and Soda Stereo. For this reason, some of his songs are written in English and others in Spanish.
The first single from the album is titled “Pueblo del Sol” and is a song inspired by the ancient prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor, which refers to the union of two folks, the Eagle of Mexico and Central America and the Condor of Patagonia. While the Eagle is more related to the mental, material and masculine side, the Condor represents the feminine side and connects more with the heart. Legend has it that when the ancestral communities of all America unite, a superior humanity will flourish. The song is also a tribute to the Pueblo del Sol in Oaxaca.
